Coltene Speedex Putty Set – Premium Dental Impression Material
Speedex offers physical properties that closely approximate those of addition cured silicones like polyvinylsiloxanes. This advanced dental impression material provides elastic recoverability and precise reproduction, features usually found only in A-Silicones. Due to its low shrinkage, impressions remain dimensionally stable and can be safely cast up to 7 days after taking the impression.
The Speedex system is designed to simplify the workflow by using only one universal activator for three different consistencies. This offers dental professionals the flexibility needed in various clinical situations while maintaining consistent results. Its outstanding wettability and excellent flow characteristics facilitate detailed impressions essential for successful treatment planning and fabrication of dental implants or prosthetics.

Detailed Description of Speedex Components
Speedex Light Body – Precision in Dental Clinic Impressions
The Speedex light body excels in wettability and flow, allowing it to displace saliva and blood efficiently. This characteristic is crucial in environments like dental clinics where moisture control can be difficult. Its variable setting time accommodates mucosal movements, which are critical for techniques such as full and partial dentures, ensuring accurate and detailed impressions.
Speedex Light Body dental impression material replicates the physical properties of addition cured silicones (polyvinylsiloxanes). Notably, it functions well regardless of haemostatic or anaesthetic substances, and glove handling does not impact performance. This makes it an ideal choice for sensitive and precise dental procedures including those involving dental implants.
Speedex Putty – Preferred Impression Material for Pressure Techniques
Speedex putty is the preferred product for two-step impression techniques requiring pressure. It is formulated for easy manipulation and provides excellent detail reproduction, which is critical in creating accurate molds used for prosthetic devices and implants.
By using Speedex putty with the universal activator, clinicians achieve consistent, reliable results. The putty ensures impressions stay stable, detailed, and dimensionally accurate, supporting successful dental restorations.
Speedex Universal Activator
The universal activator works with all Speedex consistencies including putty, putty soft, light body, and medium. This simplifies the workflow, reducing potential errors during mixing and application. Using one activator for multiple components streamlines the process and provides consistent results across impression techniques.

Speedex Light Body
Dosage:
- Dispense equal strands of Speedex Universal Activator and Speedex Light Body on a mixing block.
- Immediately close tube openings after dispensing to avoid material loss.
- Note that temperature and humidity impact curing speed—high temperature and humidity accelerate curing, while low temperatures slow it down.
- Dosing variations of the activator can adjust processing time as needed.
Mixing:
- Use a spatula to spread one component evenly over the other.
- Pick up both components together and spread on the mixing block.
- Repeat the procedure until a uniform mixture is achieved.
- Observe specified processing times for optimal results.
Impression:
- Apply the mixed impression product in the patient's mouth or directly to the impression tray, depending on method chosen.
- Insert the tray into the oral cavity and press for 2-3 seconds, then keep in place until fully set.
Pouring of Models:
