This innovative light-cured glass ionomer restorative in capsule form elevates the traditional properties of glass ionomers. It enhances strength, aesthetics, and ease of handling, making it an advanced light-cured dental material. This product is ideal for various restorative applications at your dental clinic. It is specifically designed for use in Class III and V restorations, as well as root surface caries and cervical erosion. The material’s superior properties ensure optimal results, even in challenging cases such as abfraction lesions, where traditional restorative materials may fail.
This light-cured dental material is effective for complex cavities with dentine margins or where proper enamel etching is not possible. Its versatility makes it a preferred choice in many dental clinics. The encapsulated form allows for precise and easy handling, reducing waste and preparation errors. It also supports enhanced clinical outcomes with high fluoride release and strong adhesion. Overall, it aims to improve the durability and aesthetics of dental restorations efficiently.
Recommended Indications for Use
- Restoration of Class III, V, and limited Class I cavities.
- Restoration of primary teeth in pediatric dental care.
- Core build-up applications before placing dental implants.
- Suitable for cases where a radiopaque restoration is required.
- Geriatric dental applications to address age-related dental concerns.
- Can be used as a base or liner in restorative procedures.
Contraindications
- Not recommended for pulp capping procedures.
- In rare cases, sensitivity may occur. Discontinue use if adverse reactions appear and refer to a physician.
Indications Specific to Restorative Treatment
- Ideal for Class III and V restorations that need a durable finish.
- Effective treatment for root surface caries and cervical erosion.
- Can successfully repair abfraction lesions.
- Works well with lesions where cavity margins lie in dentine.
- Use in situations where enamel prisms cannot be properly etched.
Features of the Light-Cured Dental Material
- Smaller particles offer excellent aesthetics and high polishability.
- High filler loading significantly improves abrasion resistance.
- Strontium-based glass provides good radiopacity, helping with post-operative diagnosis.
- Optimal adhesion to tooth structure when used with GC Cavity Conditioner or GC Dentine Conditioner allows minimal cavity preparation.
- The triple cure mechanism allows immediate finishing after light curing, ensuring total material setting.
- High fluoride release helps protect against secondary caries in dental implants and natural teeth.
- Available in VITA* shades to create a natural shade match in restorations.
- Faster, easier, and more efficient placement at the dental clinic.
- No measuring required since powder and liquid are pre-measured in the correct ratio.
- Mechanical mixing reduces porosities and creates a stronger cement for long-lasting results.

Directions to Use This Light-Cured Dental Material
Cavity Preparation
- Prepare the tooth normally; extensive retention is not necessary.
- Use calcium hydroxide for pulp capping where needed.
- Wash and gently dry the cavity, avoiding over-drying.
- Apply GC Cavity Conditioner to remove the smear layer effectively.
Capsule Activation & Mixing Process
- Shake or tap the capsule gently to loosen the powder inside.
- Push the plunger fully to activate the capsule material.
- Place it in the GC Capsule Applier and click once to load.
- Mix the capsule in an amalgamator for 10 seconds at approximately 4000 RPM.
Placement of Material
- Load the mixed material into the applier and click twice to prime the nozzle.
- Working time is approximately 3 minutes and 15 seconds at 23°C.
- Adjust the nozzle as needed for precise cement extrusion.
- Dry the cavity slightly; avoid desiccation to prevent sensitivity.
- Extrude the cement carefully, avoiding air bubbles for optimal strength.
- Shape and apply a matrix if needed to maintain proper contour.
- Light-cure the material for 20 seconds at 470 nm wavelength for complete setting.
- Use layering for deep cavities deeper than 1.8 mm to ensure effective curing.
Finishing Steps
- Finish the restoration using fine burs, silicone points, or strips under a water spray.
- Apply a final coating for protection and shine:
- Use GC Fuji Varnish and blow dry as needed.
- Alternatively, use Fuji COAT LC with a 10-second light cure.
- Or apply G-COAT PLUS, curing for 20 seconds with light.
